What is Hypochlorous Acid and How is it Produced?
In our machines with ECPA Technology, the mineralized water from the cathode and anode, which is mineralized with salt given to the anode and cathode chambers of the electrolysis reactor, turns into metastable state.
In chambers divided by anode and cathode diaphragm, two different compounds are formed.
A combination of oxidants is formed in the positively charged anode section, and a strong oxidant solution called an anolyte consisting of hypochlorous acid, peroxide anion, super oxide, chlorine dioxide, ozone, and monatomic oxygen is taken. In the negatively charged cathode section, a sodium hydroxide solution called catholyte is taken, which is a solution with natural detergent and degreasing properties.

Hypochlorous acid has much more bactericidal action power than hypochlorite ion. However, alkaline solutions of sodium and calcium hypochlorite with a small amount of hypochlorous acid and a large amount of hypochlorite ions are bactericidal.
HOCl is naturally produced by white blood cells in all mammals to fight bacteria and viruses, protect and heal the body.
HOCl is a strong oxidant that acts against invading bacteria, fungi and viruses. In the 1970s, the first HOCl was produced by passing electricity through the brine solution.
